Wet-n-Wild Sponge Relay

What You Need: Empty two liter soda bottles (cut off spout to form a cylinder), several large sponges, large cooler or clean trash can, water, plastic patio chairs
Players: Teams of at least 3 players each

Want to make a summer party memory that will have relatives and friends telling the story for years to come? Play this for an end-of-school bash, 4th of July, or for your child’s summer birthday. This is a wonderfully wet kid’s party game that is sure to please.

Set up chairs on the lawn or open grass area in a line facing the starting line, equidistant (about 7 to 8 yards) from the starting line. Each team selects a player to sit in the chair. The player in the chair holds a two-liter bottle on their head. The idea of the game is to fill up the bottle by squeezing water from the sponges.

Fill up the cooler with water and sponges and place it in a central location behind the starting line. When the teams hear “Go!” they race to the cooler, grab a wet sponge, run down to their teammate, and squeeze the water into the bottle. Players will get wet and that is when it gets wild! The player then changes places with the person in the chair and the person that was in the chair, races back with the empty sponge and hands it off to the next player in line. The first team to fill up the two-liter bottle wins the relay. Quote this article on your site
