Tabletop Games

A great way to take advantage of an indoor winter-weather party is to play tabletop party games that reflect an outdoor activity.  Since winter birthdays and holidays often require indoor parties, why not spark your kid’s enthusiasm by letting them play football in the house?

Celebrate the big game with a kid’s party game like Tabletop Football!

Indoors            Players: At least 2

What You Need: A table and a piece of paper, pens or markers for decorating / personalizing

Invite all the players to the party table. For a kid’s party, have each player fold and decorate their own paper football.

How to fold a paper football:
1.    Take your piece of paper and fold in half lengthwise.

2.    Unfold and cut (or tear) the sheet in half along the fold. (You will have two long srips.)

3.    Take one of the halves and fold it in half lengthwise.

4.    Fold the lower right up and left so it lines up flush with the left edge of the paper.

5.    Keep folding triangles up the paper until you reach the top of the paper.

6.    Tuck what ever excess paper into the "pocket" on the top of the ball.

How to Play:
Set the number of points you want to play to, and then flip a coin. Whoever wins the toss can decide to "flick off" or to receive.

To begin this kid’s party game, the flicker sets the football flat on the table and flicks it with his finger toward the opponent. The receiving player then has four downs (flicks) to slide the ball to the endzone for a touchdown. The table edge is the end zone, so the tabletop paper football or at least part of it, must hang over the edge of the table.

If the football goes off the table, the defending player gains possession. If it stops short of the end zone (table edge) on the 4th flick, the defense begins their turn where the ball stopped.

Following a touchdown, the scoring player gets to try for the extra point by flicking the ball from his end zone through his opponent's goalposts. To flick the kick for the extra point, , the flicker rests one point of the football on the table in front of him, holding the football steady by the top point. Then, the player flicks their paper tabletop football with his finger toward his opponent.

After a third down, if the offensive player wants to, they can “kick” for a three-point field goal the same way it’s done for an extra point, by flicking the paper football through the opponent’s finger goalposts.

This tabletop kid’s party game is great fun for kids of all ages! Quote this article on your site
